Rio Urubu Expedition Flow

5 to 10 Days

  • Day 1
    Pickup & Transfer: Hotel pick-up in Manaus and overland/boat transfer to the Rio Urubu entry point.
    Orientation: Equipment fitting, safety briefing, and technique orientation.
    Afternoon Paddle: Launch kayaks into the calm blackwaters of Rio Urubu and paddle to the first wilderness camp.
  • Days 2 to 9
    Morning Navigation: Dawn paddle for birding, river dolphins, and howler monkeys followed by riverside breakfast.
    Jungle & Creek Exploration: Traverse narrow creeks (Igarapés), flooded forest channels (Igapó), and primary jungle trails.
    Beach Camps & Night Paddles: Set up hammock camps on white-sand river beaches, enjoyed with nocturnal caiman spotting.
  • Final Day
    Final Paddle: Sunrise morning paddle returning to the base landing point.
    Return Transfer: Farewell lunch and return transfer to Manaus (hotel or airport drop-off).

Rio Jatapu Deep Wilderness Expedition

7 to 14 Days

  • Days 1 – 2
    Journey to Jatapu: Transfer from Manaus toward the isolated Rio Jatapu basin, crossing remote river channels.
    Expedition Launch: Gear check and launch into one of the most pristine and undisturbed river systems in Amazonas.
  • Days 3 – 13
    Deep River Traversal: Long-distance expedition paddling through untouched Amazonian wilderness.
    Angling & Wildlife: Exceptional sport fishing opportunities (Peacock Bass/Catfish) and sightings of giant otters, tapirs, and rare bird species.
